HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Interior, will patronize the opening ceremony of the World Championship in Fire and Rescue on October 28. The event is hosted by Saudi Arabia in Riyadh from October 26 to November 1, 2025, and organized by the General Directorate of Civil Defense in partnership with the ISFFR.
Director General of Civil Defense Major General Dr. Hamoud bin Sulaiman Al-Faraj praised this patronage, noting that the event coincides with the centenary of Civil Defense founding. He stressed that this patronage also affirms Saudi Arabia's status as a global destination for major sporting events, reflecting a positive image aligned with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
This championship, which will be held at Prince Faisal bin Fahd Sports City, is set to be an international platform for developing the firefighting and rescue profession, enhancing personnel skills, and showcasing the latest global technologies in safety and civil protection. The event will be attended by official delegations representing 22 countries and more than 300 participants, competing in four main events: the 100m hurdles jumping race, the 400m relay race, the tower climbing ladder race, and the firefighting contest.
